The Research Consortium
The physical dynamics underpinning Heritage Remote Sensing is an under-researched area. There are, at present, no other projects that utilise similar approaches. The consortium itself consists of key heritage and industry organisations which work in (heritage) remote sensing and a range of academic consultants and researchers who conduct research in the areas of computer vision, geophysics, heritage and traditional remote sensing, knowledge engineering and soil science. The breadth and depth of the heritage, industry and specialist domain expertise in the consortium is the key strength of the DART project.
DART represents an opportunity to re-appraise the foundational science underpinning heritage detection. Therefore, the consortium members have been chosen specifically for their experience and expertise which are cross cutting and essential for the successful delivery of the research programme:

Foundational heritage research in archaeological remote sensing has been conducted by the following consortium members: Beck, Challis, Evans, Schmidt and Wilkinson. This is supported by domain-specific remote sensing and soil engineering research exemplified by the following consortium members: Evans, Metje, Rogers and Steven. The non-academic heritage members will provide direct research input as well as specific insights regarding the current issues, end-user requirements and policy impacts.
